Small Theatre 

Afrah Alqoba, play produced by the Youth Theatre Company is based on Naguib Mahfouz novel bearing the same name. It casts Abdel-Moneim Riyad, Mohamed Tamer, Samar Allam, Fatema Adel, Mena Nabil and many more. Décor and lighting by Amr Al-Ashraf, costumes designed by Abeer Badrawi, movement designs by Monadel Antar. It is written and directed by Mohamed Youssef Almansour 

(Performances run on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 9pm).

 

Grand Tiba Theatre

Abo El Araby fi Mohema Rasmia (Abo El Araby in a mission impossible), a comedy about the making of Abo El Araby and his transformation into a new character as an expert in nuclear energy. The play is starring Hani RamzyDalia Al-Beheiry, Ahmed Fathy, Mohamed Gomaa, Haggag Abdel-Azim and Laila Ezz Al-Arab, written by Mohsen Rizk and directed by Tamer Karam 

(27 August, 8.30pm). 

 

Metropol (The Children’s National) Theatre

Afrakhoush play casts Ahmed Saad, Hassan Youssef, Hanaa Said among others, written by Eissa Gamal and directed by Adel Alkomy

Al-Qawmi (The National) Theatre

Lailatkom Saida (good evening) play is an adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s The Chorus Girl short story. The play casts actors Mohamed Ali Rizk, Mariam Al-Sokary, Marwa Eid, Nadeem Hisham, written and directed by Khaled Galal

(Performances run daily except Wednesdays, 9pm).

 

Al-Salam Theatre

Dogs, a play produced by the Youth Theatre Company, starring the second batch of graduates of “Start Your Dream” workshop. The play is written by Gamal Hedeny, décor by Hamdy Attia, costumes designed by Amira Saber, and directed by Kamal Attia

Salah Abdel-Sabour Hall

Sayyedat Alfagr (Lady of the Dawn), play casts Nashwa Ismail, Maye Reda, Magdy Shoukry, Wafaa Abdu, Khaled Youssef and many more. It is an adoption of Spanish writer Alejandro Casona’s play Lady of the Dawn and directed by Osama Raouf 

(Performances run daily, 7.30pm). 

Zaki Tolaimat Hall

Alsandouq (The Box), a play produced by Taliaa Theatre Company. In an absurd comical style, the play revolves around a group of people in a crisis, all locked in one unidentified place and they don’t know each other but have one dream which is to get out of this place. The play is an adaptation of Taha Sadat’s story Dreams of Dolls. It features actors Yasser Altobgy, Nasser Shahin, Taha Khalifa, Amira Abdel-Rahman, décor and costumes designed by Fady Foukiya, with music composed by Hassan Zaki and directed by Reda Hassanein     

(Performances run daily, 9pm). 

 

ALEXANDRIA 

Lycee El Horreya Theatre

Qa’a (bottom), a play on the idea of the human existence and the life journey on earth with all struggles it causes for man and his existence. The show is the graduation project of Nogoum Almostaqbal Theatre Company workshop, written by Mahmoud Mohsen, and directed by Mohamed Moursi

(Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, 7pm). 

 

El Sahel Theatre

Shamseya w 4 Karasi (an umbrella and four chairs), a comedy play performed for the first time in Sahel by comedian Ashraf Abdel-Baky

(26, 27 and 28 August, 10pm).
