Egypt to fly to Benghazi for return match against Libya pronto after Friday's home clash

The Pharaohs will fly to Libya on Saturday afternoon for the return match in the fourth round game of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers immediately after the end of the home clash in Alexandria Friday night.

The announcement was made by Egypt national football team director Wael Gomaa on Friday.

The Pharaohs will face off against Libya’s Mediterranean Knights on Friday at 9pm Cairo Local Time (CLT) at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium in the third round of the African qualifiers.

The fourth round is scheduled to be played on Monday.

"We received all the permissions for Egypt national team to fly to Libya on Saturday," Gomaa told reporters.

"The crew will fly on Saturday at 5:00pm and is expected to arrive after two hours then we will head to the hotel before starting our trainings on Sunday," Gomaa added.

After all sides in Group F played two games, Libya is in the lead with a perfect six points, Egypt sits in second place with four points, Gabon in third with three, and Angola last with zero points.

The winner of the group advances to the next level.
