Dubbed 2021’s most-listened singer in Egypt by Spotify, Wegz, who also kept top places in other platforms, proved to be the country’s most popular rapper with successive music video hits.

His 20 October release, a collaboration with Disco Masr titled ‘Keify Keda’, directed by Khaled Mokhtar, has been viewed by over 20 millions on YouTube alone in two months being among the most trending music topics in various platforms for weeks.

Followed by almost two million fans on each platform, the 1998-born rapper has gained huge popularity in two years, releasing many successful video clips of his rapping in arrangements that mix Western hip-hop with Egyptian Mahraganat sounds, starting with 2019 summer hit Bazeet, produced by DJ Totti, Wegz that put him into the mainstream.

Molotof’s recipe for Dorak Gai put Wegz among the top 2020 summer hits, passing the Egyptian borders with almost 81 million viewers on YouTube so far, with ‘Salka’, a duet with Mahraganat suspended singer Hassan Shakoosh of Bent El-Geran, and El-Ghasala ("The Washing Machine"), the theme of a comedy film under the same name, starring Mahmoud Hemeida, are among Wegz’s highlights.

Wegz is celebrating the premiere of his debut TV series ‘Bimbo’ on Shahid VIP streaming platform on Tuesday. The series is directed by Amr Salama and staring Ahmed Malek.

Wegz's New Year Eve’s concert at Family Park will also feature Lege-Cy and DizzyTooSkinny.
