Amr Diab’s album Ya Ana Ya La was the most streamed album of the year, while his earlier album, Sahran, came in third place. Hamaki’s Ya Fateny and Kol Youm Men Dah came in second and fifth, respectively. Namira’s Mawlood Sanat 80 placed fourth.
The Weeknd, Drake, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and Sia were the top-listened international artists of the year.
The top songs listened to by Egyptian streamers were, respectively, Ruby’s Hetta Tanya, Namira’s Fady Shwaya, Habibty by Hassan Shakoosh featuring Yasmine Raeis, El-Melouk of Ahmed Saad that features 3enba and Double-Zoksh. Double-Zoksh also appeared on the list in fifth place, with Fokak.
Founded in Lebanon in 2011, Anghami claims that its users have streamed over 10 billion minutes of local artists, with Arabic rap growing by 124% this year, and indie by 120%, in addition to a notable growth of the platform’s podcast and radio services streaming.
