Egypt to launch unified national network for emergency’s first phase in 5 governates: Local development Minister

Egypt’s Minister of Local development Mahmoud Shaarawy announced on Tuesday in an official statement that the new Unified National network for emergency and public safety’s first phase was going to be launched in 5 governorates nationwide.

According to Shaarawy, the network will be launched in Ismailia , South Sinai, Port Said , Suez and Luxor in coordination with the ministries of defense, interior , health, petroleum , electricity , telecommunication in addition to the governorates mentioned. 

The network aims to achieve full control and cooperation among all parties to quickly face and contain all types of emergencies, crises and disasters within a limited period of time according to previous official statements 

The network also aims to support the state’s sustainable development plans through the use of modern communications technology within the framework of a unified and fully secured network.

There will be a control center for the five governorates mentioned for the network services, the minister said revealing that there was a pilot rehearsal for the network in Ismailia governorate and it was successful.
He added that the Unified National network for emergency and public safety would be launched gradually in different phases in the rest of the governorates
