According to a statement released on Monday, EgyptAir said it has replaced 27 single-use plastic products used in its flights with eco-friendly products.
A special ‘Green Service Flight’ label will be placed on all products used during the flight, it said, adding that it has also offered a 40 percent discount on tickets for Paris bound flight.
Amr Abul-Enein, the head of the EgyptAir Holding Company, said that the flight by the national carrier comes under its efforts to reduce environmental pollution and promote awareness of the harmful effects of using single-use plastic products.
EgyptAir aims to minimise the use of disposable plastic products in its flights by 90 percent, according to the statement, in its efforts to protect the environment and limit pollution.
The airliner became the first operator in 2019 to use a new Boeing programme that offers operators the option to use biofuel on delivery flights.
In July 2019, EgyptAir received its fifth B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft from the US, which uses biofuel, the first of its kind to be used by EgyptAir.
