“We want to play a good game and deliver a better performance than our previous game to beat Sudan,” says the 32-year old midfielder told a pre-match news conference on Tuesday.

The Pharaohs have recovered from their defeat against Nigeria (1-0) in their opening game to beat Guinea Bissau 1-0 on Saturday and now need to beat neighbours Sudan to secure their passage to the next round.

“The team has quality players and a big coach, we will fight to win the title. It is our dream and we will take it step by step until we achieve it,” he concluded.

Coach Carlos Queiroz has announced that there are no Covid-19 cases detected in the team and all the players are ready for the game.

“We are ready for Sudan game and to advance into the knockout stage. We respect all our opponents but we are focuses on ourselves and to produce our best performance,” Queiroz concluded.
