The Cairo Puppet Theatre

Ferkash Lama Yakash (when Ferkash shrinks) children play tells the story of the lion Ferkash, who is very lazy and snobbish and doesn't exercise so all his friends stopped talking to him. Music is composed by Salah El-Sharnouby, décor, puppets and costumes designed by Ayat Khalifa, written and directed by Shawqy Hegab 

(Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 6.30pm). 

 

 

Metropol (The Children’s National) Theatre

Al Qatat (The Cats), a play for children casts Merna Walid, Sayed Ragab, Mahmoud Hassan written by Safwat Zeinhom and directed by Safwat Sobhy (Performances run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 7pm).

Fi Entizar Baba (Waiting for Daddy) play is an adaptation of an ancient Greek Iliad poem of Homer with the application of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud’s analysis of the ‘Electra complex’, portraying mythical characters in a series of complicated situations. The play casts actors Samah Anwar, Ahmed Salama, Entisar, Moufid Ashour, and many more, with music composed by Ahmed El-Nasser, choreography designed by Dia’a Shafiq, décor built up by Ehab El-Awamry, and directed by Samir El-Asfoury

(Performances run on Fridays, 7.30pm and Thursdays and Saturdays, 9pm).

Zannn, a short comic play written and directed by Ayman Feteha

Taliaa Theatre

Salah Abdel-Sabour Hal

Toukous Al’awda (Rituals of Return), a play produced by Al-Ghad Theatre Company and Taliaa Theatre Company. The show is inspired by the folk ballad of Hassan and Na’ema and presented in the style of a musical. It casts actors Naglaa Younis, Maher Mahmoud, poems by Mas’oud Shouman, with music composed by Ahmed Al-Haggar, décor and costumes designed by Norhan Samir and directed by Said Soliman 

(Performances run daily except Tuesdays, 7pm). 

Zaki Tolaimat Hall

The Hunchback of Notre Dame, play produced by Taliaa Theatre Company, is a novel by Victor Hugo. It features actors George Ashraf, Yehia Mahmoud, Mariam Al-Guindy, Heba Qenawy, décor by Hamdy Attia and costumes designed by Naaima Agamy, and directed by Nasser Abdel-Moneim

(Performances run on Fridays and Saturdays, Sundays, 8pm).
