Culture Minister Ines Abdel-Dayem met with the ministry’s heads of sectors to discuss the activities carried out throughout Ramadan.

The cultural and artistic activities will begin on 10 April (9 Ramadan).

The activities are in line with the celebrations of Cairo as the Capital of Culture of the Islamic world and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO), Abdel-Dayem said.

In December, ISESCO chose Cairo as the Islamic World's Capital of Culture for 2022.

The minister said that the selection reflects Cairo’s position as a meeting point for different cultures, a creative hub, and a centre for thought and art.

The celebrations will start on 10 April at the northern Cairo Wall and will include cultural and artistic activities, creative discussions, and workshops on heritage crafts.

The activities will be hosted in numerous locations operating under the culture ministry, many of which are historical and architectural gems.
