In statements on Wednesday, El-Molla said that the move came within the framework of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s directives and a state plan to expand the use of natural gas at homes.
The minister, meanwhile, pointed out to the political leadership's efforts to implement a plan envisaging supplying natural gas to housing units.
The minister noted that natural gas is extended to 1.2 housing units each year.
El-Molla further noted that the number of gas-powered vehicles in Egypt reached more than 450,000 cars.
The number of natural gas stations have increased to more than 850, he said.
The move came in implementation of a presidential initiative in that respect, El-Molla added.
