According to a statement posted on the ACA official Facebook page on Wednesday, Adel, who holds a Bachelor’s degree of Law and Police Sciences from the Police Academy,  joined the ACA in 1994, moving up in the ranks to the post of Vice President of the Authority in 2019.

Adel held all executive and leading positions at the central, regional, and specialised units of the authority during his 28-year-old career at the ACA, according to the statement.

Adel succeeds Major General Hassan Abdel-Shafy who led the ACA from 2020 to 2022, and was appointed on Tuesday, as a Presidential Adviser.

The ACA explained that Adel's portfolio at the authority includes supervising and following up on the implementation of the directives of the political leadership as well as the implementation of national projects.

He also supervised evaluation of the operations of various state administrative apparatuses and screened candidates for senior positions.

Adel has contributed in the introduction of new control units in the authority to help in developing up-to-date methods to prevent and combat corruption, applying modern principles of governance to deal with new forms of crime in a scientific and specialised manner.

He also contributed to the process of amending the bylaws of the ACA and the adoption of new conceptual frameworks to better understand and combat human trafficking, illegal immigration and impersonation crimes, the ACA’s statement added.

Adel also particiapated in various training courses in the sciences of management, economics, governance and prevention and combating corruption at home and abroad, according to the Facebook statement.
