Thurs 29, 2-4pm: “The Road to COP27: Shifting Behaviors to Address Climate Change in Egypt”, join this session of the Global Evidence for Egypt Spotlight seminar series.
The session will focus on how evidence from global, randomized evaluations can inform efforts to tackle climate change in Egypt. The event will be hosted both virtually and physically on campus. The panel discussion will foster a conversation between Egypt’s climate priorities and the relevant, rigorous global evidence, ultimately providing insights into how we can incorporate evidence-based solutions in combating climate change to ensure that climate financing and resources are effectively allocated in the Egyptian context. Speakers: H.E. Minister Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, Mahmoud Mohieldin, UN Climate Change high-level champion for Egypt and executive director at the International Monetary Fund, Kyle Emerick, J-PAL affiliate and associate professor of economics at Tufts University, AUC President Ahmad Dallal, with Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF representative in Egypt, Ayman Hegazy, chairman and chief executive officer, Allianz Egypt, and Alison Fahey, executive director, J-PAL MENA at AUC. It will be moderated by Luigi Peter Ragno, social policy chief at UNICEF Egypt.

Gerhart Center for Philanthropy, Civic Engagement and Responsible Business launched its webinar series “The Aftermath of the COVID 19: The New Social Impact Ecosystem” to discuss concepts that are currently not mainstream and may (or perhaps should) become mainstream in the aftermath of the COVID 19. The session will feature Campbell R. Harvey, professor of finance at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
