The Egyptian Red Sea city of Hurghada is hosting the first edition of ALDAU International Art Festival (AIAF), with the participation of 40 visual artists from around the world to promote cross-cultural dialogue and produce iconic artworks.

Participating artists hail from the USA, UK, France, Jordan, Tunis, Jordan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Congo, Sudan, and Egypt among other countries.

The AIAF, held under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities, is organised by ADD Art, a newly established subsidiary of ALDAU Development which is a member of  Sami Saad Holding Group.

According to a statement released by ALDAU Development, ADD Art aims to be a key player in adding value through art to the company, clients and artists

AIAF's theme is inspired by the ALDAU (Al Dhow), a traditional Arabian sailing vessel that served in trade and achieved cross-cultural exchange.

A six-day rich workshop kicked off on Thursday 22 September at the ALDAU Art Promenade.

Artworks will be displayed at the ALDAU exhibition hall from Sunday 2 October until Friday 7 October.

The official opening of the exhibition is set to be held on Saturday 1 October and will be attended by key public figures. It will feature a live performance by the Egyptian legendary Egyptian composer Omar Khairat in a celebration of creativity and arts at The Arena.

Visitors and tourists will be welcomed alike to attend the six-day exhibition, the statement added.
