Love is Blind one-act play tackles the issue that love is blind because it sees with the heart, but will love be able to see beyond deception? Love is blind is a unique act that the pupil Mahmoud Mohamed Hussein wrote in Arabic and then translated and staged in Italian, in collaboration with his fellow students from Al-Azhar University and Ain Shams University. The project was presented as part of the Week of the Italian language in the world 2022. The show is in Italian, it’s about one hour (14 December, 5pm).

Al Ascenser (The elevator), a one-act play performed by Kenoma Theatre Company, is telling the story of two assassins awaiting their next assignment in a basement. However, as they wait, uncanny events happen making them choose whether or not they should question their purpose in the basement. This play is an adaptation of The Dumb Waiter play by Ahmed El Shamaa and directed by Moustafa Khalil

Al-Hafeed (The Grandson) play is an adaptation of author Abdel-Hamid Gouda Al-Sahar’s novel. It is a social comedy about the Egyptian family that suffers from the negative impact of customs and traditions on its members and their psychology. Helm Gamil (a beautiful dream), a musical produced by the Comedy Theatre Company based on Charlie Chaplin’s masterpiece. It tells the story of a vagabond who is touring the streets singing and dancing and suddenly he meets a rich man who is trying to committee suicide, he saves his life and took him to live at his home. It casts Sameh Hussein, Sara Derzawy, Ezzat Zein, Rasha Fouad and many more. Décor by Hazem Shebl, costumes designed by Naaima Agamy, choreography by Diaa Shafiq, and directed by Islam Imam
