Mon 9, 5-7pm (Free entry): “From the Far East to the Middle East: A Japanese View on Regional Dynamics with a Focus on the Red Sea” lecture, held by The School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) and the Japanese Embassy in Cairo, will discuss Japan’s connection and perspectives towards the Middle East, as it acts as a maritime crossroad for the global economy. Speakers are Satoshi Ikeuchi, professor of religion and global security at the Research Centre for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Tokyo in Japan and political thinker and writer Abdel-Moneim Said. The event will be moderated by Karim Haggag, professor of practice and director of the Middle East Studies Program at AUC (English-Arabic translation will be available for attendees).

Thurs 5, 10am-12pm: “I Need to Change Myself” lecture will be given by professor Fatima El-Barbari, Family relations expert and mental health consultant, organized by the BA’s Children Library at the Department of Library Services. The lecture will tackle crucial aspects such as why I should change, reasons for change, and a complete strategy for change.
