The celebration included Russian folk songs and dances and a theatrical music show.
Marat Gatin, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, said that the Russian troupes in Hurghada act as the soft power of Russian culture in Egypt.
“They participate with us in various activities, whether inside the Russian House or at festivals organised by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture or other civil society institutions,” Gatin said.
“The high artistic level achieved by the Russian troupes in Hurghada has now qualified us to show the Russian arts at various festivals and activities.”
On the other hand, Elena Malikova, artistic director of the Elite ensemble, expressed her happiness to be invited by Gatin to perform this show in the Egyptian capital, “which is a dazzling city, where we are pleased to perform for its art-loving audience and to visit its historical landmarks. We will be pleased to accept any invitation to perform in Cairo.”

At the end of the Christmas celebration, Gatin honoured Malikova and said that the Elite ensemble will represent the Russian culture in the upcoming Egyptian festivals.
