After netting twice against Zamalek in the Cairo derby on Saturday, Sherif found the net again against NBE Club to take his goal tally to five goals so far.
The Red Devils are on the top of the league table with 37 points, six points ahead of second-placed Future FC who were held to a 1-1 draw by Masry, earlier in the day.
NBE Club were close to stun the hosts in the early stages as Mahmoud Kaoud’s close-range effort went wide.
Mohamed Sherif was on the rebound for Marwan Atteya’s shot which was blocked by keeper Mohamed Abou Gabal to fire home.
Sherif’s goal against NBE made Ahly's mission easier as NBE appeared incapable of posing any problem for the hosts during the game.
The second half saw Ahly coach Marcel Koller introduce Amr El-Soulya who missed the past two games due to injury.
South African forward Percy Tau appeared also in the last ten minutes of the game after recovering from a muscle injury that sidelined him for around two months.
Both players appeared in a sufficient form as Ahly are preparing for the FIFA Club World Cup set to be played in the start of the next month.
Ahly will face Auckland City of New Zealand in the tournament opener on Wednesday 1st February, with the winner facing Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday 4th February.
