"Our goal is to win the next African Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire. In my opinion, a country like Egypt must win the AFCON at least once every ten years." Mohamed told Nantes website.

"The 2026 World Cup qualifiers will kick off just after. According to the new reform, Africa will have 9 teams. Egypt cannot afford not to be there." he added.

Mostafa, 25, also said that he is proud to be able to play alongside Mohamed Salah. “All the Egyptian people are delighted to have a player like him in our team. He is a simple person and it's an honor for me to play at the same level with him.”

The former Zamalek striker joined Nantes from Turkish side Galatasaray on a season-long loan in the close season.

Since joining Nantes last summer, the Pharaohs' marksman made 28 appearances in all competitions scoring 8 goals and making 4 assists.
