The Egyptian star Salah netted a brace last Sunday against Manchester United to beat Robbie Fowler's record and accumulate a tally of 129 Premier League goals.
"Every achievement by any individual should never be undermined or overlooked. It's a fantastic achievement and he's done it in a short space of time, shorter than maybe Robbie did." Dalglish, who is one of the most prolific scorers of the Reds during the 80s, said in an interview published on the club's website.
"It's fantastic for Mo, [he's] been a great servant to the club and long may it continue," Dalglish added.
Also on Thursday, Steven Gerrard, the long-serving Liverpool captain, shared his admiration for Salah during a joint interview that was published on Liverpool’s website.
Salah asked Gerrard about his favorite player, and the Liverpool legend replied: "When I was young it was John Barnes, Barnes was like yourself, a dribbler who can score individual goals like yourself and he could change a game and he could win a game."
When Salah asked Gerrard about his favorite player at the moment, Steven said: “You. It has to be you because my son Lio is obsessed with you, he loves you more than me.
“You're the only human he loves more than me, I'm second," Gerrard concluded.
Since joining Liverpool in summer 2017, Salah has shattered several club records including the Premier League All-time scorer and the Champions League All-time scorer.
