The white Knights revived their hopes in the Champions League after defeating Esperance de Tunis 3-1 at home last week.

The Cairo giants now lie third in Group D with four points, two points behind CR Belouizdad who have six.

However, Esperance de Tunis are leading the group with nine points.

To advance to the next round, Zamalek have to win the two remaining games in the group against CR Belouizdad and Al-Merrikh of Sudan in Cairo respectively.

The reverse leg saw the Algerian side beat Zamalek 1-0 in Cairo before losing at home to Esperance de Tunis and Zamalek coach Jesualdo Ferreira believes his side could earn a win in Algeria like the tunisian side.

“The game will be difficult but we are here only to win,” Zamalek coach Jesaualdo Ferreira told the pre-match news conference on Thursday.

“The Algerian team lost at home to Esperance and I believe my team could make it in Algeria.”

Mission will not be easy for the Egyptian side who is struggling in the CAF Champions League and the domestic league.

Three days after their win against Esperance in the Champions League, Zamalek were stunned 2-0 by Enppi to slump to their fifth league defeat this season and mount doubts about the team’s ability to win in Algeria.

“Our mission will not be easy against Belouizdad but I hope to perform well and win the game.” he concluded.
