Rise in humidity across Egypt starting Friday for 5 days: EMA

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said on Thursday that there will be a noticeable rise in relative humidity from Friday to Wednesday, which will increase the feeling of heat by 2 to 4 percent.

In a statement on Thursday, the EMA said that Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and South Sinai are expected to see very hot and humid weather during the daytime until Wednesday.

Additionally, a morning fog will last until 6am every day during the five-day period along highways, agricultural roads, and roads overlooking watery areas that connect Greater Cairo, the North Coast, and Canal cities.

Furthermore, the EMA said that there will be heavy wind along the northern coast and South Sinai.

Average humidity levels in Greater Cairo will range between 35 to 40 percent during the day and 75 to 85 percent at night from Sunday to Friday.

The average humidity levels along the northern coast will range between 55 to 60 percent throughout the day and 85 to 95 percent at night. In South Sinai, it will range between 30 to 35 percent during the day and 60 to 65 percent at night.

For temperatures, Greater Cairo will witness highs of 34-35 degrees Celsius, which may feel like 37-38 degrees, from Sunday to Friday.

Meanwhile, the North Coast will see highs of 30-31 degrees Celsius that will feel like 34-36 degrees. Furthermore, Upper Egypt’s mercury will soar up to highs of 41-42 degrees Celsius that may feel like 42-43 degrees.

In South Sinai, temperatures will record highs between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius, which may feel like 41 to 43 degrees.
