A remarkable homegrown jazz phenomenon JJ Quartet gave their first concert in August 2021. Back then their line-up consisted of saxophonist Amr Wagih joining arms with well established jazz educator and Berklee alum Rashad Fahim, as well as the double bass player Andrew Safwat, and drummer Ahmed Moustafa-Riad.

The Quartet now returns with even more jazz standards and Miguel Merino swinging away on the drums.

The JJ Quartet introduces a unique quality and a sound rarely delivered by other formations. With JJ standing for Just Jazz, the quartet is dedicated to the best works by jazz’s greatest heavyweights presented in their pure format and creating sounds that shaped the bebop and post-bop eras.

Unlike many other formations, JJ Quartet is informed by an almost purist reserve aiming for an unadulterated jazz experience

Programme:
Friday 14 January
Doors open at 8:30pm, concert starts at 9pm
Room Art Space & Cafe, Garden City, Cairo
